During emergency operations or activation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), the Logistics Officer may assist with maintaining continuity of routine division functions and logistical operations as directed by the Deputy Chief or designee. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinates the development and compliance with regulations of the various equipment, structures and other physical resources of the department. Coordinates all scheduled maintenance of vehicles and equipment, owned and/or leased by the department, by appropriate County and other maintenance facilities. Coordinates the repairs of all vehicles and equipment, owned and/or leased by the department, by appropriate County and other maintenance facilities. Manages and maintains all applicable records and documentation for local, state and federal agencies regarding apparatus and equipment. Provides accountability, with appropriate inventory controls for vehicles and equipment. Create, review and maintain a filing system for vehicle inventories Provide a program of quality assurance for all appropriate fire-rescue resources. Ensure requisitions are complete and replacement supplies procured for apparatus and stations, including development and management of a computerized system for these actions. Coordinates annual pumper, aerial and hose testing in accordance with applicable standards. Create and maintain a mechanism for reporting equipment which is deemed faulty and/or in need of repair. Monitor and provide Quality Assurance for work by internal and/or external repair facilities to apparatus and equipment. Monitor bids and contacts relating to property management. Assist with the formulation of specifications for buildings, apparatus and equipment. Assists with resource tracking and equipment deployment during Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations. Assists with gathering operational data for division performance tracking and reporting. In case of emergency or crisis situation (hurricane, flood, etc.) position is required to respond/perform emergency and recovery duties as assigned by the County Manager or designee. During an emergency or crisis situation, this position will may be required to be present at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) to provide assistance while activated. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Valid Florida driver’s license with clean driving record. A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Experience in logistics coordination, fleet operations, inventory management, public safety operations, or related field is preferred. Knowledge of NFPA standards related to apparatus and equipment testing. Reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching during equipment inspections. Operation computers and administrative equipment. The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. Tasks may risk exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, etc. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
