Kitting Program Specialist

Job Purpose: Our Kitting Program Specialist will assist in driving revenue within the Kitting Packaging segment and will schedule converters, manage order flow, and be responsible for the reconciliation of billing that derives from kitting functions. This position will ensure customer production demand needs are met in accurate and timely manner. Job Responsibilities: Own the order process from labor PO, replenishment of raw material and delivery to converter through receipt of finished goods into our Oracle database inventory on hand and reconciliation of any AP discrepancies. Track daily production sheets to demand and notify kitting teams when product mix/mold changes need to occur. Coordinate with locations to track raw materials and replenishment orders to meet production demand. Prepare production forecast, coordinate production schedule for each location, coordinate truck schedule and monitor implementation with operations team. Generate cost reduction through efficiencies by applying best practices across kitting locations and help implement improvements. Conduct audits of 3rd party kitting or converting contractor inventory records and manage inventory with off-site 3rd party kitting or converting contractors. Set up new item numbers along with obtaining copies of vendor quotes and set up cost in system. Complete cost and sell price audits on a regular basis. Identify potential customer concerns and proactively work to mitigate problems. The ideal candidate takes ownership of inventory accuracy, proactively identifies shrink issues, and maintains a clean, secure, and controlled warehouse environment. POSITION SUMMARY Under close supervision, follows oral and written work orders in the loading and/or unloading of product from the trucks. Coordinates and consolidates the product flow within the warehouse and ensures product is placed in the proper zone/bin. Responsible for picking and packing orders, hauling product to or from storage to designated trucks and stores items on floors for convenient removal. Uses forklift to store and relocate merchandise. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Unload Inventory Product Coordination Material Handling Material Loading Pkg Assembly/UPS, Fed X Warehouse Maintenance PRINCIPAL TASKS 1. Receive load assignments at the start of shift from Manager. Coordinate and consolidate the product flow within the warehouse and ensure the product is placed in the proper zone/bin. Survey the lift at the start of each shift and note any equipment issues on the pre-trip inspection checklist. 2. Load and unload product from trucks using a forklift. Chock trailer or utilize dock levelers prior to loading or unloading. Ensure carrier in door and carrier on pick list of Bill of Lading match prior to loading or unloading. Ensure product is accurate and damage free. 3. Responsible for extensive picking and packing of orders, and shipping orders through UPS or Fed-X in a timely manner and per instructions and procedures. 4. Report to supervisor in a timely manner when loading or unloading is complete for the next assignment. Practice and maintain safe conditions throughout the shift. Maintain cleanliness in warehouse. 5. Responsible for any other additional clerical duties as assigned by Management. MAJOR CHALLENGES 1. Ability to handle pieces of freight that weight 50 lbs. on a regular basis. 2. Ability to operate material handling equipment, i.e. forklift, sit down and stand up. 3. Ability to accomplish projects with little or no supervision. 4. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. 5. Ability to reason and resolve some issues independently. 6. SCOPE OF AUTHORITY AND INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS 1. Frequent contact with Distribution Center/Warehouse employees within the organization. Must be able to communicate effectively in a professional manner. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS WORK EXPERIENCE: One to two (1 - 2) years experience in a warehouse environment. ACADEMIC/TRAINING: A High School diploma or equivalent. SKILLS: Must be forklift certified and able to operate material handling equipment, i.e., forklift, sit down and stand up. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Be able to read, write and speak English, with basic mathematical skills. Must have the ability to reason logically, use common sense, and resolve issues independently. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands of this position require waling, standing, sitting, hearing, seeing, moving, driving, reaching, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is typical of a warehouse, with forklifts moving, truck being loaded and unloaded, using propane and electricity, with a strong smell of tires. The environment has uncontrolled air.
