MAJOR GOAL: This position is responsible for leading and managing all warehouse activities on a daily, shift or team basis in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. The scope of this position includes all phases of warehousing including, shipping, receiving, inventorying, product repackaging, palletizing and forklift operation. Responsible for providing proactive and excellent customer service to assigned account(s), assisting with scheduling inbound and outbound shipments with Customer’s Carrier’s (including LTL and TL shipments) if applicable, and managing all Warehouse Customer’s invoices and billing documents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards including daily inspection and maintenance. Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a forklift, reach truck, or motorized pallet rider. Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas. Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers or containers. Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Pick and pack (order picking and/or assembly of products in less than full case lots), light assembly (assembly of light mechanical or electrical component parts or sub-assemblies that may require the use of hand tools) and record storage. Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed. Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Supervise checking and unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product and picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with high level of productivity. Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all product is properly counted. Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Compute and analyze daily, weekly production metrics. Assist in physical inventories, maintain product locator system Ensure the optimal utilization of space, rotate product using FIFO. Ensures customers’ special requests are carried out and all problems and/or discrepancies are investigated. Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions.
