*Job Title:* Freight Broker *Job summary:* The primary duty of the Freight Broker is to develop relationships with prospective carriers to generate repeat sales and maximize Pickett Logistics margins. *Essential Functions of the Job:* * Generate new carrier base via load boards, networking, and cold calling * Negotiate contract and spot market lanes with carriers * Communicate shipment specific details directly to carrier and driver via various methods * Work closely with ops team to ensure that customer expectations and delivery requirements are met * Complete accurate and timely scheduling and dispatching of trucks to ensure that the flow of product in and out meets customer demands. * Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery so that accurate, up-to-date information can be provided regarding any shipment (Track & Trace) *Skills Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:* * “WINNING” attitude, competitive spirit.
