SUMMARY Responsible for all general warehouse functions including loading, unloading, manual depal, receiving, put-a-way, pulls and replenishments, and selection of product when qualified and as needed in accordance with Preferred Work Methods (PWMs). Each function requires specific equipment and/or process certification. Requires working in freezer, cooler and dry warehouse environments with extreme cold and/or warm temperatures. Performs all duties safely, accurately and meets set productivity standards and goals ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Follow warehouse management system directed selection pick path, accurately select product from inventory, label correctly, stage product on pallet and transport to staging area for shipment. Stack product on pallet with heavier items on bottom and lighter items on top to prevent damage to lighter product and to maintain a secure pallet. Secure pallets with shrink wrap according to established PWMs for delivery. Record any necessary/required item information into the warehouse management system. Inspect product being moved for shortages, damage, quality, or deterioration of packing and report to supervisor. Must successfully complete the pallet jack certification process and testing and be able to perform the PWMs. Work effectively with immediate supervisor to minimize warehouse shrink/damage (product loss). Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work areas and travel aisles, and the accuracy of warehouse locations. Report any unfixable/unsafe issues immediately to supervisor. Observe and enforce all safety rules to eliminate accidents and injuries. JOB SUMMARY The primary purpose of this position is to support the outbound shipping department. Checkers are responsible for accurately verifying all outgoing products. This will include dates if applicable, quantities, correct pack size and description. All of this is done with compliance with Sysco’s Preferred Work Methods. RESPONSIBILITIES Checkers will verify the order has been selected accurately by using sheets generated from the Sysco warehouse management system (SWMS).
