Data Governance Analyst ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT As a Data Governance Analyst I, you will support the execution of VyStar’s enterprise data governance program through foundational governance activities related to metadata management, data quality, data privacy, and lifecycle management. This role operates within the 2nd Line of Defense and supports Enterprise Risk Management by assisting with data classification, application onboarding activities such as Microsoft Purview, and coordination across Data Owners, Data Stewards, Risk, Privacy, and key I.T. stakeholders. The analyst contributes to the operationalization of governance standards, procedures, and controls, supports onboarding of new data sources into the enterprise data ecosystem, and helps maintain core governance assets including the enterprise data catalog, data asset inventory, business glossary, and related documentation. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Support execution of enterprise data governance initiatives related to metadata, data quality, privacy, and lifecycle management. Assist in maintaining data governance documentation, standards, procedures, training materials, and reference guides. Support Risk and Privacy teams with data classification, governance activities, and application onboarding processes such as Microsoft Purview. Assist with data catalog and metadata population, including business glossary content and data element documentation. Support Data Owners and Data Stewards in maintaining metadata standards and consistent governance practices. Support training coordination for Data Owners and Data Stewards Help monitor data quality metrics, perform basic data analysis and extraction activities, and escalate identified issues as appropriate. Support Data Governance Council and working group meetings through preparation of materials, notes, action tracking, and follow-up coordination. Assist with onboarding stakeholders to governance processes and support training coordination for Data Owners and Data Stewards. Collect and compile data governance metrics and KPIs, support issue tracking and remediation documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in enterprise initiatives such as data inventory and cataloging, records retention, data lifecycle activities, and data quality improvement efforts.
