Environmental Technician – (JAX)

The Opportunity Tetra Tech is looking for a part-time Environmental Technician to work in the Jacksonville, Florida area. You must live within Jacksonville, FL area. Position Summary The selected candidate will provide environmental air sampling support in the Jacksonville, Florida area. You will collect particulate samples from sites located around the city of Jacksonville. The daily routine will involve sample collection, sample documentation, and transportation to a designated laboratory. You will be trained in standard operating procedures and air sample equipment mechanical maintenance. Sample collection is completed daily, 365 days a year, including weekends and holidays. The collection of samples occurs during an early morning 4-hour shift from 4:30am - 8:30am with a schedule of two (2) weeks of sampling, followed by one (1) week off, then repeat. Additional monthly group meetings and trainings are scheduled with advanced notice (may take place remotely or in person) during normal business hours. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, punctual, reliable, customer focused, have excellent communication skills and work well in a team environment. More so, one must be able to teach others and quickly pick up additional skills as needed. This position requires the ability to perform tasks without a lot of oversight. Additionally, this role requires the ability to perform, or willingness to learn, minor electrical and mechanical repairs. This position is managed by our Denver, CO office; however, the candidate is required to live in the Jacksonville, Florida area. This position allows the potential to support other projects and/or tasks that may arise in relation to other contracts outside of the listed above work.
