Pipe Layer

We are looking for a Pipe Layer to join our team. You must have at least two years of experience. The Pipe Layer is responsible for assembling and connecting pipe systems for water mains, sewers, and drains. Please, do not apply if you don’t have reliable transportation* Job Functions (include but are not limited to) Lay out pipe routes, follow written instructions or blueprints, and coordinate layouts with supervisors. Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using welding equipment, cement, or glue. Cut pipes to required lengths. Dig trenches to desired or required depths by hand or using trenching tools. Grade and level trench bases using tamping machines and hand tools. Install and repair sanitary and stormwater sewer structures and pipe systems. Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement using magnetic or radio indicators. Ability to check trench for safe slopes and correct ladder entrance/exit placement. Dig by hand to expose existing pipes and/or utilities in the trench area. Inspect pipes to ensure proper jointing can be achieved. Verify installation using lasers and/or levels and grade rods. Compact fill below, around, and above pipe installation. Perform other duties as assigned. Inspects and ensures that all operating machines and equipment conform to electrical and mechanical operational quality standards. 8. Assists with the implementation of new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and the effect greater utilization of equipment, labor and materials. 9. Requisitions tools, electrical test equipment and maintenance supplies required for plant operation. 10. Keeps an up-to-date inventory and file of all machine parts and maintenance supplies. 11. Confers with operations manager, production control manager, supervisors, and other appropriate personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines, equipment, and processes. 12. Keeps maintenance area neat, clean and orderly; cleans up after completing maintenance work throughout the plant. 13. Monitors building and exterior grounds to keep all areas clean and neat. 14. Records and files complete machine histories relating to maintenance problems and cures, troubleshooting methods, services required, spare parts and parts vendors. 15. Must be willing to pursue ongoing technical training to enhance capabilities and knowledge. 16. Regular and reliable attendance. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Knows, understands and follows all plant safety rules, general rules and procedures. 2. The Housekeeping Staff is responsible for cleaning the common areas and maintaining cleanliness of assigned work areas for residents of the community. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Ready to Fly! Oversee cleaning of the entire facility, with daily emphasis on the common areas. Complete maintenance request when needed. Report notices of deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager. Operate the laundry room when needed. Report inadequate quantities of cleaning supplies, brooms, mops, buckets, etc. to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager. Clean office areas when assigned. Dust and clean all window blinds in the facility. Dust all furniture, bookshelves, etc., in the common areas. Use only approved cleaning agents and maintain up to date MSDS for all cleaning products. Be willing and able to learn chemical and biohazard guidelines. Keep common area bathrooms clean. Attend staff meetings as scheduled. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: The Wingspan Needed! High school diploma or GED diploma Ability to bend and lift accordingly to job assigned and with a minimum lifting capability of 25 lbs. Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time. Prior experience is helpful but not required. Sanitation Experience is preferred. Experience with cleaning mechanical equipment. Have the discipline to follow safety guidelines. Detail oriented and organized. Ability to work the schedule with prompt and dependable attendance.
