This role assists with electrical equipment installation, conduit and wiring work, equipment support construction, and tool maintenance while adhering to quality, safety, and production standards. The position provides an opportunity to develop electrical trade skills and grow within a structured manufacturing and apprenticeship environment. Essential Functions Assist in the installation of electrical switchgear, panels, controllers, wireways, trays etc. Develop the skills to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics. Assist in the installation of electrical conduit and wiring on modular chiller systems per plans. Assist in the termination of high and low voltage wiring. Construct support and infrastructure for electrical equipment. Oversee and organize electrical tool room. Troubleshoot electrical tools, welders, and grinders. Assist Journeyman or Superintendent with misc. job duties. Responsibilities may require sedentary work, including but not limited to computer operation, video review, classroom or online training, job observations/inspections, and peer work review. Summary Objective To have experienced working knowledge of the Industrial Structural Fitting, Assembly & Welding Industry and the various terminologies, blueprint reading, measurements, take outs, job specifications, etc., to build an integrally complete erection system. Essential Functions Fluent in understanding job specification, blueprint reading, target point measurements, true /plumb /square checking, and any necessary torque requirements, for large industrial structural steel systems. The ability to cut, prep, fit and tack small to large; HSS box tubes, Angle, W-members, Flat Plate, etc., from various material types through true-plumb-square; into weld ready status, using isometric and structural drawings, while adhering to specific fit tolerance requirements. The ability to properly select, measure, hand dress, score and cut with torch, air arc, plasma, grinder, power saws, hand tools, etc., as necessary to prepare metal surfaces for welding process to be completed per job specific requirements. Installation knowledge of all forms of structural system hangers, supports, braces, etc., from temporary through jamb-nut completion. Strong structural aptitude and problem solver who can understand and follow instruction. Accountability for completion of daily work assignments while monitoring quality, safety, and health regulations. Operate overhead cranes and or forklifts, while adhering to industry standard practices of safe rigging systems and techniques. Safely and efficiently direct and monitor two or more helpers. Documentation of all quality reporting methods employed per SEA Quality Standards. Complies with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements and is physically / medically qualified to wear required PPE per OSHA standards. This role supports production by ensuring bodymaker tooling, including punches, redraw dies, ironing dies, domers, and related components, are maintained to exact specifications for optimal can quality, productivity, and equipment performance. JOB RESPONSIBIL I TIES: Manufacture, repair, rebuild, and maintain precision tooling used in can-making operations. Polish and lap carbide and steel tooling surfaces to required finish specifications. Set up and adjust bodymaker tooling, including punches, redraw dies, ironing dies, and doming tools. Inspect tooling for wear, damage, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish. Operate precision equipment such as grinders, lathes, mills, polishers, and measuring instruments. Read and interpret engineering drawings, tooling specifications, and tolerance requirements. Measure tooling using micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, optical comparators, and other precision instruments. Perform preventative maintenance activities on tooling and related equipment. Troubleshoot tooling-related quality defects and production issues. Ensure tooling meets safety, quality, and production standards. Document tooling repairs, modifications, measurements, and maintenance activities. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize tooling performance and can quality. Maintain a clean and organized tool room environment. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. Technical training, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in Tool and Die Making, Precision Machining, or Manufacturing Technology.
