DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform a wide range of routine labor-intensive work in the installation, maintenance and repair of City water and sewer systems, and associated utility lift stations and facilities. Cleans, inspects, and maintains lift stations, water and wastewater facilities and equipment, e.g., performs water quality flushing, removes grease; lubricates motors and equipment, replaces packing in pumps and valves, replaces wiring and bearings in motors and pumps. Installs water and sewer systems; installs taps, backflows, stop-offs, domestic and reclaim water meters. Troubleshoots, disassembles, repairs, paints, and replaces transmission lines and peripheral components, e.g., hydrants, gauges, motors, assemblies, ground flushing systems and valves, panels, switches. Operates equipment through test sequencing to ensure proper operating conditions; monitors gauges and meters to ensure proper operating conditions. Performs all work in adherence to established preventive maintenance principles and schedules to detect wear and tear and prevent equipment and operational malfunctions; performs non-scheduled maintenance activities. Performs the safe and proper operation of trade’s tools and power equipment; adheres to prescribed safety standards and regulatory requirements. Maintains daily work reports and preventive maintenance records, ensuring thorough documentation for identified problem areas. i.e., Confined space entry, trench safety and elevated work areas. Operates and performs minor maintenance on all heavy and construction equipment and vehicles up to and including Class 8. This includes ensuring that the equipment or vehicles meet all safety and operational standards. Coordinates with other utility crews on leaks, main breaks, or related critical events; responds to emergency call-in in disasters or other critical events. Job Summary: The Production Support position is responsible for assembling various types of hose assemblies according to specifications, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and measuring instruments. Reads routers and drawings to determine dimensions, configuration, and finish specifications. Sets up and operates a variety of manual and power machines according to specifications. Test assemblies for leaks and other defects using pressure-testing equipment. Responsible for completing a variety of other tasks in the Production Department as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to go up and down on a ladder while carrying hoses. Ability to lift to 50 pounds. Read and interpret drawings. Read a tape measure and be able to set lengths up for cutting. Cutting with a saw (will have sparks and a chance of cuts, scrapes, and burns). Ability to count and write numbers neatly and accurately on paperwork. Work in areas with heat and humidity (no air conditioning). Clean and sweep the shop daily and take out trash daily. Rotate hoses in the bulk area when needed. Work in the shipping area (package hoses and computer work). Ability to work with chemicals and chemical smells. Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Ability to follow directions carefully and ask questions if unclear of direction. Ability to work quickly and accurately with attention to detail. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to work well with others. Ability to multitask. Position Summary: Accurately supply all the material needed for Blister packaging machines in a timely manner, based on production needs. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: Supply all needed material to the Blister lines in an accurate and timely manner. This includes assembled product, blister cards, chip boxes, plastic film, and master cartons. Open and stack master cartons. Palletize and wrap all finished cases and move to designated area. Maintain knowledge of all product lines to include item number and description. Keep production-related schedules current by ensuring machines have ample supplies while running. Train new Material Handlers, as needed. Safely operate electronic pallet jack to move materials throughout the Warehouse and production floor. Maintain the corner wrap labelers. This will include replacing the label as well as the ribbon. This will also include correctly sizing the box to enable it to properly go through the labeler. Assist in the Assembly and Display department areas, as needed. Return unused materials to Warehouse. Remove trash and cardboard when needed. Operate the baler and make bales. Operate the trash compacter. Work extended shifts and/or weekends, when necessary, which in most cases would occur during the Back-to-School seasons. Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma plus two years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of Pilot product preferred. Skills Required: Speak and comprehend direction and feedback as articulated in English. Must be conscientious, dependable, detail oriented and a team player.
