Welder – Submarine Program (Tidewater Tech)

Our Jacksonville Maritime Solutions shipyard is seeking to hire motivated entry level Welders from our Trade School Partners. This position will be in support our Submarine program at Jacksonville Maritime Solutions shipyard. These roles are responsible for fabrication on submarine manufacturing. The primary tasks include the welding of newly installed structural members and plating, as well as the welding of re-installed temporary access openings. Additional tasks include the following... Welding on a wide variety of materials, using an ever-growing number of weld processes Welding structural assemblies using GMAW and SMAW during fabrication and installation of submarine construction Participation in continuous training in traditional, and new welding processes, using both conventional and state-of-the art equipment (Qualification required for each process) Use of pneumatic tools such as grinders, burr tools, wire brushes, etc. Oxy/fuel pre-heat and carbon/arc gouging as well as verifying weld size using weld gauges Reading and interpretation of weld symbols, technique sheets, and work packages Additional tasks as assigned All tasks require strict adherence to the company’s safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. A structural welder should be able to read and utilize welding procedures and welding symbols. A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use an oxy-fuel torch to apply pre-heat to materials prior to welding. A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use air carbon arc gouging equipment to gouge welds. A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use electric and pneumatic grinders to prepare materials for welding, as well as to clean and contour finished welds. A structural welder should be able to use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions of weld joints in accordance with approved joint designs. A structural welder should be able to use weld gauges to verify weld size and quality in accordance with specifications. A structural welder should be able to utilize ceramic backing in the flat, horizontal, and vertical positions with the semi-automatic welding processes. A structural welder should be able to pass groove-weld qualification tests in all positions for multiple materials and processes, such as Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) of high strength steel and stainless steel. This position will be in support of Submarine projects. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Must be a graduate or current student of Tidewater Tech MIG Welding experience or training Structural welding experience Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs Experience working in the construction industry or a manufacturing environment Basic mathematical skills Ability to interpret welding and shipyard procedures, structural drawings, technical manuals, test documents and diagrams This position requires you to successfully demonstrate your ability to complete the technical requirements outlined in NAVSEA mil std 1688. This position also requires access to a controlled site with additional clearance requirements. An offer for this position is contingent on you both being able to demonstrate ability to complete technical training outlined in NAVSEA mil std 1688 and obtaining/maintaining the required access to the controlled site. Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $46966 - $85030 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. The ideal candidate for the Life Sciences Sales Executive will be an experienced sales professional with a proven record of new business development in life sciences RPO or staffing. This role covers the full product life cycle — discovery and preclinical research, clinical development, regulatory submission, and commercial manufacturing and distribution. It requires credible, consultative conversations with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, and Talent Acquisition leaders about how hiring needs change as a program advances. The role is hybrid for candidates in the greater Jacksonville, FL area with the option to work from home on Tuesdays and Fridays. This is a remote position for candidates residing outside of Jacksonville, FL. Supervisory Responsibilities: • None Duties/Responsibilities: • Cultivate new business with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device prospects hiring across the development and commercial life cycle, through outreach and sales presentations by phone and in person • Generate leads using social media and online sourcing tools to identify prospects scaling R&D, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, and supply chain teams • Manage prospects through the entire sales process, translating hiring needs at any stage of the life cycle into RPO service solutions • Speak credibly about both early-stage needs (IND/IDE-enabling studies, clinical trials) and commercial-stage needs (GMP manufacturing, CMO/CDMO oversight, cold chain), positioning PrincetonOne and Hueman as a specialized life sciences partner, not a generalist staffing vendor • Identify expansion opportunities as clients progress from clinical development into commercial manufacturing • Generate relationships and leads at life sciences conferences spanning R&D, clinical development, manufacturing, and supply chain • Manage the sales funnel in the CRM and partner with PrincetonOne and Hueman leadership on long-term relationships The Types of Roles You’ll Be Selling to Win: Candidates must be intimately familiar with the roles clients hire for at every stage, including: • Discovery & preclinical: Research and Senior Scientists; Medicinal and Process Chemists; Formulation Scientists; Toxicologists; Preclinical Study Directors • Regulatory & compliance: Regulatory Affairs Associates and Managers (IND, IDE, 510(k), PMA submissions); IND-Enabling Studies Managers; Regulatory and GMP Compliance Managers • Clinical development & data: Clinical Research Associates; Clinical Trial and Clinical Project Managers; Clinical Operations Managers; Medical Monitors and Medical Directors; Biostatisticians; Clinical Data Managers; Drug Safety Associates; Medical Writers • Manufacturing & tech transfer: Manufacturing Engineers and Managers; Process Engineers; Production Supervisors; Validation Engineers; CMC Managers; External Manufacturing and CMO/CDMO Program Managers • Quality, planning & logistics: Quality Assurance Managers and Directors; Quality Control Analysts and Managers; Supply Chain and Demand Planners; Logistics and Distribution Managers; Cold Chain Logistics Specialists Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree or higher • 6+ years of RPO or staffing sales experience specifically within the life sciences, biotech, and/or medical device sector, ideally spanning both development-stage and commercial-stage organizations Required Skills/Abilities: • Able to sell across multiple buyer types — R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain leaders • Adept at fostering relationships quickly, in person and telephonically; an existing network of HR, Talent Acquisition, or life sciences functional leaders preferred • Exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication skills, with consultative sales and negotiation experience preferred • Proficient use of Microsoft Suite products, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases, and LinkedIn • Self-starter, self-motivated, and team-oriented, able to identify the largest opportunity and manage time accordingly, with experience working remotely Life Sciences Industry Knowledge: Working fluency is required across the following: • Regulatory pathways: IND and IDE submissions; 510(k), De Novo, and PMA device pathways; NDA/BLA filings; and FDA expedited programs and their effect on hiring urgency • Standards and compliance: GLP, GCP, and cGMP requirements; ISO 13485 for medical devices; and quality systems fundamentals including deviation management and CAPA • Clinical development: clinical trial phase structure and how staffing needs shift across Phase I, II, and III, including NDA/BLA-driven hiring ramp-up • Outsourcing and supply chain: the roles of CROs, CMOs, and CDMOs; how sponsors structure internal vs. outsourced clinical and manufacturing teams; technology transfer; and cold chain distribution Physical Requirements • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Ability to travel for client meetings and industry events as business needs require. • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. • Candidates hired for this position must pass onboarding and credentialing requirements established by Hueman and the client.
