Job Title: Quality Technician Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Technician to monitor and ensure the quality of all products manufactured at our facility. This individual will be responsible for maintaining daily quality logs, conducting inspections, and supporting the overall quality assurance processes. Key Responsibilities: Monitor Quality Daily: Regularly inspect products at different stages of the production process to ensure they meet company standards and customer specifications. Training & Best Practices: Train and support temporary and hourly employees to ensure consistent application of quality standards and SOPs. Monitor adherence to quality protocols and regulatory requirements, providing coaching as needed to maintain process integrity. Maintain Quality Logs: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all quality metrics for each product made in the facility, tracking trends and reporting to quality manager. Reporting and Communication: Communicate quality issues to production teams, supervisors, and management, ensuring timely resolution and clear documentation of findings. 5S Ownership: Lead and promote 5S practices in the workplace to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality. Maintain organized workspaces and contribute to ongoing improvements. Process Improvement: Support efforts to improve quality processes by identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. Project Management Support (optional): Assist in quality-related project management tasks, including coordinating timelines, resources, and deliverables. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or higher in a related field preferred). 1-3 years of experience in a quality technician or similar role, ideally in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in Excel for data management and basic analysis. Familiarity with PowerPoint to create presentations for reporting or team communication. Understanding of 5S and its application in a manufacturing setting. Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly report quality issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Project management experience is a plus, particularly in managing small to medium-sized initiatives. WATER Controls treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and for industrial use. Operates and controls electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of raw water into treating plant. Dumps specified amounts of chemicals, such as chlorine, ammonia, and lime into water or adjusts automatic devices that admit specified amounts of chemicals into tanks to disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water. Starts agitator to mix chemicals and allows impurities to settle to bottom of tank. Turns valves to regulate water through filter beds to remove impurities. Pumps purified water into water mains. Monitors panelboard and adjusts controls to regulator flow rates, loss of head pressure and water elevation and distribution of water. Cleans tanks and filter beds, using backwashing (reverse flow of water.) Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment, using hand- and power tools. Tests water samples to determine acidity, color, and impurities, using colorimeter, turbidimeter, and conductivity meter. Records data, such as residual content of chemicals, water turbidity, and water pressure. May operate potable water- purification plant to supply drinking water. May purify wastewater from plant preparatory to pumping water into rivers and streams or city mains. Performs other duties as assigned. WASTEWATER Operates sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage: Monitors control panels and adjust valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage. Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings, and tests results to determine load requirements. Starts and stops pumps, engines and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, setline, aeration, and sludge digestion processes. Maintains log of operations and records meter and gas readings. Gives directions to wastewater treatment plant attendants and sewage disposal workers in performing routine operations and maintenance. May collect sewage samples using dipper or bottle and conducts laboratory test, using testing equipment such as colorimeter. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High School education or equivalent. Must possess Wastewater Operator Must possess or obtain and maintain Georgia Class III Water Operator license license no later than December 2026, to include successful completion of the Drinking Water Treatment Class 3 Course no later than June 2026. Must provide verifiable evidence of a minimum of 12 months experience in the maintenance mechanic field. Must possess the tools of their trade. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and wear hard-toed safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413- 05 standards Successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Non-Conformance and Corrective Action Manage Issue Management program - including Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) Reports - ensuring investigation, root cause analysis, and actions have been identified and documented, are on track, and completed. Work directly with Manufacturing operations to resolve issues and prevent their reoccurrence. Calibration Maintains and controls inspection and testing equipment as per the quality manual/procedures. Ensures measuring equipment at Mustang is calibrated/verified at specified intervals, or prior to use, against measurement standards traceable to international or national measurement standards. Quality Records Analyse quality data to determine process conformance and failure modes, to use this data to drive action for quality improvement. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE High school diploma/GED required. Degree preferred. Professional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus. 5+ years in Quality Assurance, Quality Control or a similar field. Canadian Controlled Goods and ITARs eligibility. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Good command of the English language, written and verbal. Operations are conducted in a storm-protected 100-acre inland campus in the city of Palatka just 30 miles southwest of Jacksonville on the St. Johns River that provides direct access to the Atlantic Ocean. Position Summary The Aluminum Fitter is responsible for fabricating, laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting of aluminum components for both new construction and repair projects. The role involves interpreting blueprints and specifications to assemble various aluminum structures accurately and efficiently, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout the process. Responsibilities Position, align, fit parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools. Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes. Tack-weld fitted parts together. Lay out and examine Aluminum stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met. Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers. Locate and mark work piece bending and cutting lines, allowing for stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications. Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding or riveting. Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences. Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components. Hammer, chip, and grind work pieces to cut, bend, and straighten metal. Smooth work piece edges and fix taps, tubes, and valves. Design and construct templates and fixtures, using hand tools. Straighten warped or bent parts, using sledges, hand torches, straightening presses, or bulldozers. Set up face blocks, jigs, and fixtures. Remove high spots and cut bevels, using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches. Direct welders to build up low spots or short pieces with weld. Lift or move materials and finished products, using large cranes. Heat-treat parts, using acetylene torches. Preheat work pieces to make them malleable, using hand torches or furnaces. Install boilers, containers, and other structures. Erect ladders and scaffolding to fit together large assemblies. And miscellaneous duties may be required.
