Dumps chemicals such as alum into tanks to coagulate impurities and reduce acidity. Records data, such as residual content of chemicals, water turbidity, and water pressure. May operate potable water-purification plant to supply drinking water. May purify wastewater from plant preparatory to pumping water into rivers and streams or city mains. Wastewater: Operates sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage: Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage. Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings, and tests results to determine load requirements. Starts and stops pumps, engines and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes. Maintains log of operations and records meter and gas readings. Gives directions to wastewater treatment plan attendants and sewage disposal workers in performing routine operations and maintenance. May collect sewage samples using dipper or bottle and conducts laboratory tests, using testing equipment such as colorimeter. What You’ll Be Doing Box Build Wiring: Route and terminate wires inside system enclosures and control boxes to match schematics and mechanical layout. Schematic Translation: Interpret complex electrical schematics, diagrams, and assembly drawing specifications, applying them in physical builds—both wiring and component placement. Wire Preparation: Prepare wires for installation using pneumatic and manual tools to IPC standards. Component Assembly: Position, install, and connect electrical parts, wires, and components to facilitate assembly instructions according to Engineering and IPC standards. Tool Operation: Safely and effectively use hand tools (strippers, crimpers, torque wrenches), multimeters, heat guns, standing power tools, and other production equipment. Documentation: Ensure accurate completion of shop travelers, redline schematics, and maintain build records as needed. Quality Checks: Perform visual, dimensional inspection, continuity checks, torque critical connections, and verify all terminations to confirm compliance with standards, specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements. Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineers, production leads, and quality to review work, resolve issues, and improve build processes. Cross-Functional Assembly: Perform a variety of tasks across cable assembly, mechanical builds, and wiring—based on production priorities and team needs. Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to team learning by sharing techniques and supporting training initiatives. Continuous Improvement: Identify, suggest, and support process improvements that enhance workflow, consistency, and quality. Travel may be required as assigned to fulfill job responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support departmental and organizational goals. Qualifications and Education Requirements Education: High School diploma or equivalent, vocational or technical school training preferred. Experience: 3+ years of electrical wiring experience, especially in power systems, control panels, or box builds. Skills: Basic knowledge of hand-tools (e.g., measuring equipment, crimpers). Proven ability to read and follow complex electrical schematics and assembly instructions. Strong attention to detail. Preferred Skills and Qualifications Familiarity with IPC-620 Class 3 standards. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Basic knowledge of power systems. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and temperature variations.
