Operate an 8000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided). Load and unload storage containers for delivery. Transport storage containers to and from specified destinations, e.g., customers’ homes and businesses – local routes only. Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University. Minimum Requirements: Clean motor vehicle driving record High school diploma or equivalent Department of Transportation certification Commercial driver’s license (CDL) Must be 18 or older Work Environment: The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields. Crew Leader – Tree Care

We are seeking experienced Crew Leaders to work safely in the field for our Tree Care division. You will be a working team member who oversees all aspects of a crew from start to completion. What would my responsibilities be? Supervise and perform tree care service activities along with the crew according to property and client specifications. Activities include tree removal, trimming, roping, rigging, storm work, removal of limbs near energized conductors, stump grinding, etc. Operate bucket truck, aerial lift, chipper, stump grinder and other equipment as needed. We're currently hiring experienced Class A CDL drivers for a dedicated regional account operating throughout the Southeast. Drivers on this account enjoy weekly home time, consistent freight, and competitive pay on a dedicated retail delivery operation. Minimum 3 months of recent, verifiable tractor-trailer experience required. Position Overview Dedicated regional account Weekly home time with a 34-hour reset Operating area includes Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana Approximately 1,600 miles per week Average of 3 loads per week Between 1 and 6 delivery stops per day Early morning delivery schedule; weekends and holidays may be required International, Freightliner, and Kenworth tractors Freight Information 100% touch freight Live unload deliveries using a roller system Additional compensation for trailer unloads and backhaul freight Stable, year-round freight Compensation Experience-based CPM: 3–11 months: $0.55 CPM 12–23 months: $0.56 CPM 24–35 months: $0.57 CPM 36+ months: $0.58 CPM Additional Compensation: Trailer unload pay Backhaul pay Accessorial pay Average weekly earnings are approximately $1,400, with higher earnings possible based on routes, productivity, and applicable compensation programs. General Laborer/ Inmate Supervisor I

MAJOR FUNCTIONS: Under general supervision of the Solid Waste Director, performs limited supervisory and manual labor work for the Solid Waste Department. This position requires supervising and assisting an inmate work squad in obtaining and disposing of refuse and debris from County Facilities and Collection Sites and mowing, weed eating and landscape maintenance. Must be able to safely operate a County van with trailer attached. Employee is also responsible for performing other unskilled labor tasks as requested by Supervisor which may include carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, pressure cleaning, etc. Will assist in preparation and aftermath of major emergencies such as hurricanes or other natural disasters. Will perform on-call duties for Animal Control. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Cleaning and routine preventive maintenance of all lawn mowers, weed eaters and any other equipment used for this position. Ensuring all safety guidelines are followed and that the inmates are using their safety glasses, vest, and gloves at all times. Successfully complete training to supervise inmates as directed by DOC. Must maintain contact with DOC and do the required 30-minute call-ins. Any accident or injury to any inmates MUST be reported immediately. Attendance as scheduled at assigned place of duty. Attend safety meetings as required. Attend and complete provided training for Animal Control and perform on-call Animal Control Services, including feeding and watering animals at the County shelter. Performs other related work as required. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS: Knowledge of the Union County Road system/Districts and Collection Sites is preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to follow directions and complete work assignments with little or no supervision. Ability to lead and control up to 14 inmates and ensure work is being completed as assigned. Ability to successfully complete one initial 40-hour training class to supervise inmates and renew that certification annually. Ability to work with the general public in a courteous manner. WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work requires occasional physical exertion and/or muscular strain. Work involves exposure to extreme heat and cold, noise, strong odors, smoke, dust, pollen, and possible toxic or caustic conditions. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires on-call 24/7 during any county disaster or emergency and on-call availability for Animal Control. INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION: Requires the ability to speak and/ or signal people to convey or exchange information. Includes receiving instructions, assignments, or directions from supervisors and following through the instructions to completion. INTERPERSONAL TEMPERAMENT: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress, and when confronted with persons acting under stress, the general public, residents, and inmates.
