About the Role: The Assistant Warehouse Manager plays a critical role in supporting the overall operations and management of the warehouse facility to ensure efficient, safe, and timely handling of inventory and shipments. This position involves collaborating closely with the Warehouse Manager to oversee daily activities, optimize workflow, and maintain high standards of accuracy and productivity. The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for supervising warehouse staff, coordinating logistics, and implementing best practices to improve operational efficiency. This role requires proactive problem-solving to address challenges related to inventory control, equipment maintenance, and compliance with safety regulations. Ultimately, the Assistant Warehouse Manager contributes to the seamless functioning of the warehouse, supporting the company’s supply chain objectives and customer satisfaction goals. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years experience in warehouse operations or logistics. Basic supervisory or team lead experience in a warehouse or distribution environment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures. Strong understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field. Experience with forklift operation and certification. Proficiency in using advanced warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Previous experience in a supervisory role within a high-volume warehouse. Knowledge of lean warehouse practices and continuous improvement methodologies. Responsibilities: Assist in managing daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping activities. Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse staff to ensure adherence to company policies and performance standards. Coordinate with logistics and transportation teams to schedule shipments and deliveries efficiently. Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts to maintain accuracy and prevent stock discrepancies. Support the Warehouse Manager in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity. Handle administrative tasks such as reporting, documentation, and maintaining operational records. Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate complex problems to senior management when necessary. Skills: The Assistant Warehouse Manager utilizes strong organizational and leadership skills daily to coordinate warehouse activities and manage staff effectively. Communication skills are essential for liaising with team members, logistics partners, and management to ensure smooth operations.
