Job Summary The Business Intelligence Database Administrator is responsible for monitoring and administering the underlying SQL Servers that support the Enterprise Data Warehouse. This position requires the ability to secure and optimize SQL Server performance, develop ETL processes to move data from various sources and targets, and support and develop reporting in Power BI and SSRS as needed to support the overall team. This position will interact and work extensively within the Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence stack including SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI. Key Responsibilities Own the Daily Execution Dashboard: Maintain and enhance the Epic-Driven Daily Execution Dashboard, ensuring data from Jira and Zephyr is accurately reflected in a "single pane of glass" view and prepare dashboards for senior executives to facilitate decision making. Prepare the dashboard for the 3x weekly Execution War Room, highlighting critical blockers, at-risk capabilities, and negative trends before the meeting begins. Automate data pulls and visualizations to minimize manual report creation and maximize time spent on analysis. Analyze Delivery Velocity and Predict Bottlenecks: Track sprint-on-sprint performance, including story point completion, defect resolution rates, and build-breaking bug trends. Analyze the flow of Epics across the full lifecycle (Dev SIT UAT Done) to identify where capabilities are slowing down or getting stuck. Develop predictive metrics to forecast potential sprint spillover or milestone delays before they become critical. Conduct Root Cause Analysis on Blockers and Defects: Go beyond simply reporting that an Epic is "Blocked." Use Jira data to identify the specific dependency, the owner of the blocking task, and the aging of the issue. Analyze defect trends to identify systemic quality issues, such as a specific POD generating a high number of bugs or a recurring type of integration failure. Provide the "so what" behind the numbers, presenting clear, actionable recommendations to the Initiative Manager (e.g., "Data Migration defects have been flat for 3 days; we recommend assigning a dedicated engineer to defect #5821 to unblock the two dependent stories"). Support Jira Data Hygiene and Structure: Work with Tech Leads and POD owners to ensure the Jira plan is maintained at a high quality, with clear dependencies, a defined critical path, and accurate capability prioritization (Non-Negotiable, High, Medium). Ensure all test cases in Zephyr are correctly linked to their parent Jira Epics to enable the end-to-end lifecycle view. Act as the subject matter expert for the Execution Office on JQL, helping to build and refine the queries that power our dashboards and reports. Support Executive Reporting: Provide the quantitative data and analytical insights required for the monthly Steering Committee and other senior leadership briefings. Translate complex delivery metrics into clear, concise visuals and summaries that are easily consumable by an executive audience. Qualifications & Required Skills Experience: 6-10 years of experience in a data analysis, project management, or PMO role on a large-scale technology transformation program. Jira Expertise (Non-Negotiable): Expert-level proficiency with Jira, including building complex dashboards, writing advanced JQL queries, and understanding how to structure projects with Epics, stories, and dependencies.
