About the Role: The Mechanical Engineer will support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) READI contract by designing HVAC and mechanical systems that support emergency operations, temporary facilities, infrastructure recovery, and resiliency projects. This role provides mechanical engineering expertise for the assessment, design, rehabilitation, and optimization of building mechanical systems impacted by disasters and emergency events. The Mechanical Engineer will develop engineering solutions for heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, fuel systems, and other mechanical infrastructure necessary to support emergency response and recovery operations. The position requires collaboration with architects, electrical engineers, civil engineers, construction personnel, and government stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable, energy-efficient, and code-compliant mechanical system designs. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with demonstrated experience in mechanical systems engineering. Professional experience designing, evaluating, or rehabilitating HVAC and building mechanical systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar engineering design and drafting software. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, heat transfer principles, fluid flow, and thermodynamics.
