Your responsibility is to accurately and quickly service a very fast paced client base while maintaining the highest quality and safety in the industry. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree. • Must have relevant water/wastewater construction experience • Experience in managing self-perform crews is preferred. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Developing leader and team player with five plus years of experience in engineering, construction, or related field. • Proven success in the completion of multimillion-dollar projects. Responsibilities: • Monitor the project so that a safe workplace is being maintained and safety policy is administered • Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded • Short-term scheduling including manpower and equipment resources • Coordination of permits and regulatory inspections • Field document control including daily reports • Progress photographs • Material handling (receiving, and inventory, storage, spare parts) • Subcontract coordination • Jobsite hiring as required • As-Built drawings • Participate in post construction review • Small tool management • Knowledge of contract documents • Jobsite security • Completion of every project within time and budget • Accurate and timely quantity reporting and time keeping • Identify and communicate all changes in scope to Project Manager • Maintain a clean and orderly jobsite Qualifications: • Must have experience supervising projects in the water or wastewater industry. • Managing craft and self-performing work is preferred. • Must have experience with self-performing cast-in-place concrete, piping, and mechanical equipment experience. • Appropriate supervisory experience. • Good communication and people skills. • Computer proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel. • Current training as Competent Person in Trenching, Scaffolds, Rigging, Confined Space, and Fall Protection. • Current in OSHA 10-hour, First Aid & CPR, SWPPP Inspector, silica, Risk Management, and Accident training. • History of successful completion of multi-million-dollar projects. Wharton-Smith, Inc., a highly regarded general contractor, is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Executive position within our North Florida Commercial business unit. The Project Executive will be responsible for overseeing project management and ensuring the financial success of projects throughout the Northwest Florida region. Primary responsibilities: • Develop and maintain strong client relations with municipal, k-12, and public safety clients. • Provide leadership and strategic direction to multiple project teams working on commercial construction projects. • Develop team members through training, mentoring, and coaching to maintain continuous improvement across project execution and delivery. • Collaborate closely with Business Development and Marketing to identify and secure new commercial opportunities. • Participate in and advise senior leadership on pursuits, client development, and bid strategies within the commercial construction sector. • Review and negotiate contract documents to ensure understanding of project scope, technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and deliverables. • Coordinate the interests of Wharton-Smith, the client, and third-party stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are met and client satisfaction is achieved. • Promote collaboration, communication, and cooperation across project teams to ensure unified goals and accountability. • Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of project personnel to ensure compliance, quality, and accuracy. • Provide oversight and direction in project financial performance including cost tracking, forecasting, and profitability analysis. • Champion safety practices across all projects by ensuring policies are reviewed and implemented effectively by Project Managers and Superintendents. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field. • Ten (10) years of progressive experience in commercial construction, specifically in municipal, k-12, and public safety projects. • Advanced understanding of the construction processes and regulatory requirements. • Experience with various delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, Design-Build). • Ability to interpret civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents. • Strong organizational, leadership, and analytical skills with a proven track record of managing complex projects. • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and produce results through others. • Strategic thinking with the ability to plan and manage project pipelines over a 3–5-year outlook. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills at both operational and strategic levels. • High level of energy, integrity, and a commitment to exceptional client service. • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and industry partners.
