Twin Disc, ZF, Allison, Cat), fuel systems, pneumatic clutches, shafting, rudders, towing/weight/cargo handling machinery, various machine components and auxiliary machinery, such as electrical power plants, pumps, hydraulics, steering gear etc. Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and other drawings with average or better ability to solve mathematical problems. Use standard handbook formulas in performing dimensional measurements and maintaining required tolerances. Participate/Assist in bid package evaluations, develop service requisitions related to dock-side and dry-dock events in Enterprise when appointed. Serve as the GLDD designated representative in shipyards, monitoring and overseeing all aspects of dry-dock and dock-side repairs, modifications and revisions when appointed. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair to AC and DC electrical systems, electro- hydraulic steering systems, controls and equipment to include practical knowledge of electric principles and electrical safety standards. Be skilled in the use of various test equipment, metering and measuring devices such as multi- meters, feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, tachometers, visgages, hydrometers etc. used to troubleshoot, repair, align, adjust and test shipboard equipment and machinery. Work involves ascending and descending narrow vertical ladders or staging, often while carrying tools, equipment and parts. Work is performed inside and outside, underway and moored or in dry-dock, exposing you to the prevailing weather and sea conditions, noise, and intermittent slippery or uneven surfaces. Frequently, work is performed in cramped areas with minimum light and ventilation, and in areas with high temperatures. You will be exposed to moving machinery and objects, noise and vibration from machinery, hot surface temperatures, and sharp edges. Coordinate with multi-discipline teams to support master planning, design, permitting, and construction support activities. Strong data analysis skills (advanced Excel; experience with Python/R and/or SQL is a plus). Strong technical writing and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple concurrent assignments. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed for field verification/support (project-dependent). Experience calibrating models using field data (e.g., flow tests, hydrant tests, pressure logging, flow monitoring). Familiarity with utility planning and operations (e.g., CIP support, asset management integration). Experience with model animation/visualization and presentation-ready outputs. Experience with implementation of machine learning and/or AI methods to solve engineering problems Participation in industry organizations is encouraged (e.g., AWWA, WEF, ASCE/EWRI, local utility associations); presenting or publishing is a plus.
