Welder Structural Fabricator

We have a Welder Structural Fabricator position available in Baldwin, FL. This position is responsible for modular building assembly, skidded control system fabrication, and general mechanical tasks. Major Responsibilities Mechanical fabrication of modular control buildings from custom steel bases to wall/roof assembly, and full fit out with doors, HVACs, etc. Proper layout of mechanical equipment within modular building. Assemble mechanical equipment per WM standards and engineered drawings. Assembling, installing and mounting electrical and mechanical equipment and components in a neat and professional manner within modular control buildings. Ability to visually locate components and determine proper clearances, etc. Properly label and document component identification and location. Assist with preparing assembled equipment for system testing procedures. Maintain a clean and organized production area on a daily basis. Reviews BOM (bill of materials) to assess equipment receipt and readiness for project assembly. Proper use of industrial tools, such as, welders, grinders, band saws, shear, punches, bender, overhead crane, and forklifts. Complies with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Works with Manufacturing Manager and Operations Manager to fully understand system assembly requirements and shipment schedules and/or project timelines. Minimum Requirements Education – High School Diploma (Associates in Industrial/Mechanical field and/or related Military experience preferred). Experience – 2+ years of directly related mechanical and/or fabrication experience in the areas described above for Staff Technician Level. 5 – 10 years of experience for Lead Technician Level. Strong preference for AWS welding experience and certifications. Strong preference for CWI certification. Required Skills and Qualifications: Ability to read mechanical/fabrication drawings and details. Good employee interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated skill in working effectively with a team of engineers and engineering support. Familiar with the use of a personal computer (PC) for entering timesheets, expense reports, printing wire labels, etc. Working knowledge of all necessary safety requirements while working in assembly area. Strong time management and organization skills. Must be able to work independently and successfully complete multiple assignments in a deadline driven environment. Physical Demands of Position Good visual perception to see small electrical wires and components within the panel boards. Must have full dexterity in hands and fingers to utilize variety of tools and equipment for electrical assembly. Must have ability to stand and/or kneel for long periods of time. Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines. Also, ability to mount and dismount equipment, push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Working Conditions Equipment assembly environment; cement floor with floor padding provided as needed. May be dust in the area from the type of equipment environment setting. Position Summary Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Designer to join our Switchgear Design team. Working under the direction of a Lead or Design Engineer, the Electrical Designer will support the development of electrical design packages for low and medium voltage switchgear, assist with CAD-related activities, and help maintain accurate engineering documentation and part records. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced, production-driven environment where attention to detail and collaboration are essential to delivering high-quality results. Key Responsibilities Work with engineering team to develop complete electrical design packages for low and medium voltage switchgear in accordance with customer specifications and applicable codes and standards under the direction of a Lead or Design Engineer. Assist Electrical Design Engineers with day-to-day design tasks, including drawing updates, BOMs, and engineering transmittals. Support CAD-related activities such as updating drawings, redlines, schematic revisions and support on the shop floor under the direction of a Lead or Design Engineer. Assist with the organization and maintenance of engineering documentation and reference materials. Create and maintain accurate part descriptions in the engineering and ERP systems (Infor/WorkNet), ensuring consistency and adherence to IEM naming standards. Review and update existing part records to correct inaccuracies, eliminate duplicates, and align descriptions with current design standards. Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager or Lead Engineer. Qualifications Associate's Degree or Technology Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field. Experience reading and producing electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams for switchgear or similar power distribution equipment. Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design. Working knowledge of UL standards applicable to switchgear, NEC, CEC and power distribution equipment. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to design accuracy, documentation quality, and adherence to established engineering processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Prior experience in a custom switchgear, MCC, or power distribution manufacturing environment is desired. Workplace Conditions On-site at an IEM manufacturing facility; office and production floor environment. Regular shop floor interaction with production, wiring, and assembly teams. Standard business hours with occasional overtime during peak production periods. Key Responsibilities: Collect and input production data into databases or spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Support lean manufacturing initiatives trough data management including cycle times studies, line balancing, machine performance, material usage, downtime, and product output. Maintain and update production logs, records, and databases with the most current information. Ownership of production boards; sustaining up to date and relevant information to production areas. Assist production by providing up to date data on production performance, maintenance logs, machine status, and work orders. Generate basic reports and summaries for production teams, supervisors, and management to support daily operational decisions. Assist in the analysis of data to identify trends, patterns, or inconsistencies that could impact production efficiency or product quality. Work with production leads and supervisors to ensure all production data is captured accurately and reported in a timely manner. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear recommendations and actions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence operational leaders through data storytelling. Help maintain data integrity by identifying and correcting any errors in the data collection process. Perform data entry and reporting tasks using ERP systems, production software, or Microsoft Excel. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Manufacturing Technology, or related technical field. We have a Welder Structural Fabricator position available in Baldwin, FL. This position is responsible for modular building assembly, skidded control system fabrication, and general mechanical tasks. Major Responsibilities Mechanical fabrication of modular control buildings from custom steel bases to wall/roof assembly, and full fit out with doors, HVACs, etc. Proper layout of mechanical equipment within modular building. Assemble mechanical equipment per WM standards and engineered drawings. Assembling, installing and mounting electrical and mechanical equipment and components in a neat and professional manner within modular control buildings. Ability to visually locate components and determine proper clearances, etc. Properly label and document component identification and location. Assist with preparing assembled equipment for system testing procedures. Maintain a clean and organized production area on a daily basis. Reviews BOM (bill of materials) to assess equipment receipt and readiness for project assembly. Proper use of industrial tools, such as, welders, grinders, band saws, shear, punches, bender, overhead crane, and forklifts. Complies with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Works with Manufacturing Manager and Operations Manager to fully understand system assembly requirements and shipment schedules and/or project timelines. Minimum Requirements Education – High School Diploma (Associates in Industrial/Mechanical field and/or related Military experience preferred).
