JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the safe operation of a stationary or traveling crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Depresses buttons, lifts levers, and ensures load is safely attached to crane before bringing it down. Manipulate or depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions. Repair and maintain the crane as needed. Conducting a pre-operational checklist of the crane prior to operations each day. Determine if any parts are malfunctioning. Complete job tickets, service quality summaries and all other necessary paperwork. Lift, position, and place machinery, equipment or other large objects at job site or facility. Place blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads. Move levers and pedals to rotate crane on chassis to raise and lower crane boom and to raise and lower loan-line. Bolt boom sections together to extend or modify boom for high lifting. Work with precise limits and standards of accuracy. Operate crane according to signals from helpers. Follow directions carefully. Conducting a safety brief with the crew on site prior to operations each day. Walking the job site with the Rigging Foreman or Rigging Supervisor to identify hazards or risks prior to operations each day. Only operating cranes IAW their training and certification, and per the Operator Manual and this procedure. Stopping operations for any UNSAFE issue. Placing the crane in a safe condition at the end of operations. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a standard apprenticeship/trade/vocational school. High school diploma or GED required and 3 or more years of related experience or equivalent of training and experience. NCCCO Certifications required. Class B Driver’s License Required; Class A preferred. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and hand signals. Ability to gain access to military installations. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent eye-hand coordination. Must pass a drug test and background check. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and seek help with weights over 50 pounds. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. Operations Manager in the Jacksonville, Florida location: This is a key onsite management position with the objective of effectively managing a division to ensure all safety policies are adhered to, profit of the division is achieved, service expectations are met, and data analysis to improve profit margin. The candidate must be able to enhance team member performance, achieve divisional goals, and effectively lead a team in a positive and forward-thinking atmosphere. Utilizes knowledge of procedures to enhance uniformity of best business practices to perform the functions of the division more efficiently. Essential Functions/Specific Responsibilities: Coach and mentor Driver Managers and Planners to ensure operational targets and safety goals are achieved. Communicate and work with sales to ensure profitability of lanes and to maintain a load ratio above contract goals at all times. Personnel scheduling and recommendations for change when necessary. Maintain positive relationships with the driver force and field personnel. Coach and mentor drivers to meet or exceed key performance factors. Regular monitoring of asset utilization (trailers/tractors/drivers) and provides direction on movement of those assets. Travel to customer and off-site locations.
