Responsibilities: Position Summary Provide prompt and courteous service to customers including: sales, technical product research, preparation of sales quotes and bids for large contractors and key customers, order processing, pricing, promotional activities and all aspects of customer service by handling unique, key account customer needs. Essential Job Function Greet customers on the telephone in a prompt, professional and helpful manner. Provide prompt, courteous service by listening to the customers needs and requests and respond accordingly. Handle customer warranty claims and credit returns in a timely fashion by completing all appropriate documentation, receiving product items back prior to processing of any claims or credits in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP’s). Enter sales orders into Sales Order Entry System and process credit card payments in accordance with SOP’s. Answer incoming customer telephone calls and provide all aspects of customer service by: providing quotes or taking sales orders, research products/services and answering general information questions. Calculate refrigeration load requirements for quotes and bids for refrigeration equipment. Identify damaged inventory and bring this to the attention of the Store Manager for mark-down and quick sale. Work the sales counter area during peak periods or for relief of counter sales reps on lunch, as needed. Assist Account Managers with Key Customers needs, bids, or quotes as requested. Maintain a neat, clean and professional personal appearance. Attend training seminars on products and services in order to acquire product knowledge in order to provide informed and effective customer service. Time permitting – promote monthly flyers and special promotions by calling customers to make them aware of these promotions in order to enhance counter sales. Alert immediate supervisor when showroom sales are observed to be brisk so that additional staff can be added to counter to avert long waiting times for customers. Perform other duties as requested in order to maintain our high level of customer service through timely and effective teamwork. Qualifications: Education, Work Experience & Specialized Skills or Knowledge High School or general education degree (G.E.D.) Good knowledge of personal computers. 1 – 2 years of previous retail / wholesale or customer service experience desired. Ability to speak effectively with customers. Knowledge of HVAC / R equipment and products is more limited with the CSR I who is learning the product lines in their initial 24 – 36 months on the job. When necessary, works with purchasing team to place purchase orders for emergency items. Works with Receiving Specialists to ensure that all incoming packages are delivered in a timely manner, resolves receiving issues with Supply Chain Management and/or vendor if necessary, and investigates to completion, and deliver any shipments received without the proper tracking documentation indicating its intended destination. Works with Supply Chain Team to perform routine spot inventories of stock items. Investigates and make minor inventory adjustments as needed. Report major inventory discrepancies to the Logistics Manager for review prior to any adjustments. Suggest changes to improve supply delivery and efficiency. Perform periodic par level management and optimization. Processes department and window issues/return and department orders on a daily basis. All other duties as assigned. Clears coin jams and makes refunds at designated locations as required. - Responsible for inventory control, to include micro markets, trucks, routes, etc. in both the vending and micro market systems. - Collects turn-in money bags daily from Cash Handling Clerks; counts and verifies cash receipt, prepares Daily Cash Receipt (SS/120) and arranges for deposit in accordance with established procedures. Receives bills from Cash Handling Clerk and purchases coins from Cashier's Cage Navy Exchange. - Interacts with customers and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner, which includes adhering to NEX dress code/uniform standards, and assisting/supporting other vending team members to the maximum extent possible. - Becomes knowledgeable regarding merchandise selected; including proper set-up, use, care, characteristics of various product price points. Communicates product-related information to customers knowledgeably and legibly. - Operates motor vehicle throughout the geographical area in connection with duties performed. Loads and unloads merchandise by hand or dolly; insures that merchandise is protected from damage or bad weather. Prepares and maintains Daily Trip Report of all trips made. - Adheres to and/or coordinates preventive maintenance schedule (i.e. oil change, tune up, brakes, etc.) with designated NEX personnel accordingly. Ensures to maintain proper level of fuel during the operation of the vehicle, and retains all receipt regarding refueling and/or maintenance. Ensures interior of the vehicle is clean and free of all debris, and returned to designated parking area at end of work day. Performs other related duties assigned. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Regularly lifts and transports moderately heavy objects weighing up to 40 lbs. occasionally handles heavier items with assistance or with material handling equipment. Regular walking, bending, and reaching are required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed both inside and outside. Incumbent is occasionally exposed to bad weather conditions while loading and unloading vehicle. Drives in all types of bad weather and is subject to cuts or bruises. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1.
