The incumbent is a collaborative member of BIPI who is expected to communicate seamlessly with other members of the field-based organization, act as a leader and coach within the MSL team and perform all activities in a compliant manner. Duties & Responsibilities Customer Interactions and Scientific Exchange: The overarching objective of the Associate Director MSL is to be in the field conducting scientific exchange with prioritized SCEs. Therefore, the principal effort of the MSL will be focused on planning, preparing for, and conducting field-based interactions and scientific exchange in support of the TA Scientific Objectives (SOs). Specific aspects of the role include, but may not be limited to: Proactively conducting scientific exchange with SCEs to support the SOs. Establishing and maintaining scientific relationships with SCEs, while developing a strong understanding of territory specific healthcare systems and clinical practices related to patient care, disease management, treatment protocols, and research interests. Acting as a scientific resource to SCEs and HCPs to reactively answer specific questions on TA or disease state topics and BI compounds through scientific exchange. Providing disease state education on topics related to TA Scientific Objectives. Performs testing on finished products ensuring conformance to company requirements. Performs analysis for special test requests to provide continuous improvement in the areas of quality, technology and processes. These tests include utilizing analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis and refractometer. Ability to distinguish color variation required Adheres to environmental policy and procedures and supports department environmental objectives. Ability to pay special attention to detail with degree of accuracy. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Must be familiar with GMP, GLP, SOP and ISO. Requires some initiative and judgment. Actions checked periodically. Responsibilities Performs routine testing, product release, complaint investigations and non-conformance investigations. (50%) Documents and prepares labeling related to results of sampling and testing of raw materials. Prepares documentation i.e., MARS, labels, log books, and maintains control numbers. (15%) Generates results and produces reports to present to clients using systems such as LabWare LIMS and Empower. (10%) Troubleshoot/calibration/maintenance supporting procedures of instrumentation. (10%) Identifies issues in the laboratory and seeks appropriate action. (5%) Performs other related duties as assigned by management. (5%) Maintains clean work area. Supports lab in housekeeping, environmental, and safety initiatives. (5%) Qualifications 1-3 years Chemistry or related field and/or work experience in a laboratory with a BS in chemistry or other related science discipline. Technical writing skills. Ability to prepare protocols for investigations. Knowledge of advanced technical concepts. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven technical skills and hands on instrumentation skills. Understanding of operation, troubleshooting, calibration, and minor maintenance of equipment. Thorough knowledge of FDA, ISO, and GMP requirements. Understanding of GLP and GMP is required. General knowledge of more complex activities within the lab, with the ability to train others in specific areas.
