Responsibilities The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. This is a PRN opportunity working in an acute care, inpatient hospital setting at Wolfson Children's Hospital and community hospital settings, working with NICU and floor patients. The ideal candidate would be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, and holiday rotations and has had previous experience working in acute care settings, including NICU experience. Job Responsibilities: Evaluates, diagnoses, develops and implements a treatment plan for patients of all diagnoses. Provides care for patients who present with a variety of medical conditions and deficits which impact communication, language development, oral motor skills, and feeding safety and efficiency. Diagnoses which commonly impact these developmental areas include prematurity, neurological, respiratory, cardiac, GI, genetic, craniofacial and developmental delay. Provides extensive patient/family education. Participates in multidisciplinary team care with other rehab professionals, nursing, physicians, dietitians, social services, respiratory, support staff, etc. Works in a fast-paced setting requiring good time management, detailed documentation skills in the EMR, self-directed, and effective communication skills.
