Once the Conductor Training Program is completed, the trainee is eligible for promotion to the Rail Specialist position. With experience, Rail Specialists are eligible to apply for the CNYX Locomotive Engineer Training Program. Entry Level - good mechanical skills; previous hydoblasting or applicable experience in the industry, 6 months or one outage/turnaround season and is learning technologies Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work away from home as needed. Use of necessary PPE and safe handling procedures when dealing with chemicals and other materials. Ability to use PPE – respirator, face shield, chemical resistant suit or apron, chemical resistant gloves, personnel wash stations, weight scale, micrometer, temperature monitoring devices, cranes, chemical transfer pumps, product racking, barrel dolly, forklift. Ability to interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels of employees. Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment. Must be able to work M-SUN, as required. 100% Travel is required and the ability to travel anywhere in the Continental US with short notice. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk and move for extended periods (8+ hours per day). Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, stair climbing, and reaching in various work environments. Lifting and carrying tools, equipment, and materials up to 50 lbs. (occasionally heavier with assistance). Working in outdoor and indoor environments, sometimes in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc). Climbing ladders, scaffolding, or working at heights as needed. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools and safely. Driving for extended periods to customer sites, sometimes in remote locations. Working in confined spaces. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary. Be aware of and adhere to safety protocols. Work Environment The work environment involves remote or industrial locations, such as oil rigs, refineries, power plants, manufacturing facilities or industrial plants. Employees may be exposed to loud noise, heavy machinery, and hazardous materials, high pressure equipment, confined spaces, and extreme temperatures. Rotational schedules and extended shifts are common. Safety is a top priority, with rigorous training protocols and PPE including hard hats, gloves, and high-visibility clothing provided to mitigate risks. The role may involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold. Employees will spend time traveling between job sites.
