Applications Engineer – Electrical & Switchgear

Position Summary As an Applications Engineer, you will provide engineering support to our sales and design teams, focusing on three-phase power, automation, and communication within low and medium voltage switchgear. You'll apply high-level engineering concepts to solve real-world challenges and help shape custom solutions for our clients. Key Responsibilities Provide pre-order engineering support, including preliminary drawings, communication diagrams, sequences of operation, and bills of materials. Collaborate with design engineering, mechanical, and production teams to develop innovative solutions for unique applications. Review customer plans, specifications, and scope of work to ensure alignment with product offerings and completeness before hand-off to design engineering. Offer technical input to product development teams regarding new products or enhancements to existing ones. Assist in building a library of standard design details, tools, and CAD resources for repeatable applications. Deliver technical training on IEM products and applications to internal teams and clients. Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEEE) during product and order evaluations. Provide ongoing technical consultation to internal sales and engineering teams. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of experience in design, applications, or field service roles with a focus on power products. Experience with AutoCAD Switchgear design experience. Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings[RC1] . Experience with PLC and HMI programming, power studies, and protection coordination. Strong understanding of three-phase electric power systems, including distribution, control, protection strategies, and rotating machines. Proficiency in communications hardware and protocols, especially Ethernet networking, Modbus, and IEC 61850. Familiarity with UL and IEEE standards (UL 891, 1558, 508A; IEEE C37.20, etc.) and the National Electric Code. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; self-motivated and able to work independently. Compensation The salary range for this role is $82,560 -$158,600 per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications. Operations Manager (Second Shift)

Lead Daily Operations: Oversee daily production activities, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production schedules, quality standards, and operational goals. Team Leadership & Accountability: Manage and develop a cross-functional team including production, quality, materials, and maintenance. Set expectations, provide coaching, and ensure accountability at all levels. Production Scheduling & Efficiency: Partner with Production Planning and Materials teams to align demand with capacity, ensuring a balanced workflow, efficient material usage, and optimized labor deployment. Data-Driven Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for operational issues, using tools such as Pareto analysis, A3 problem-solving, and process mapping to drive improvements. Continuous Improvement & Lean Implementation: Champion Lean manufacturing principles, eliminating waste and driving efficiency through 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) initiatives. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to identify and resolve design, process, or equipment issues affecting production. Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Champion a culture of zero injuries and high-quality production. Qualifications: Education & Experience: Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Minimum Required: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing leadership, such as Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, or Value Stream Leadership roles. (1st Shift) Quality Control Supervisor – Test and Inspection

PURPOSE OF POSITION: This role leads daily testing and inspection operations, ensures product conformance to UL standards and customer requirements, and supports quality, safety, delivery, and cost goals across all test areas. The supervisor manages test technicians, coordinates priorities with production, and drives consistent process execution across the value stream. The Quality Control Supervisor is a fully onsite role based out of our Jacksonville location and will report into our Test & Inspection Manager. First shift hours are 6:00am - 2:30pm. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Lead daily activities of Test Technicians and Inspectors supporting various product lines within the site. Align testing and inspection tasks with the production schedule and communicated priorities. Ensure adherence to UL standards, customer specifications, electrical testing requirements, and company policies. Oversee testing processes including hipot, megger, torque checks, functional testing, continuity inspections, and other required verifications. Verify all testing logs, data sheets, inspection forms, and digital entries are accurate and complete. Support root cause investigations and corrective or preventative actions for test or quality issues. Train and mentor team members on test procedures, safety practices, documentation, and equipment usage. Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Project Management, and Materials teams to resolve test failures, part shortages, or missing documentation. Maintain test equipment readiness including calibration, safety checks, and proper storage. Monitor daily performance indicators including first-time quality, test throughput, retest rates, and downtime. Communicate risk conditions, schedule conflicts, and equipment concerns to the Test and Inspection Manager. Position Summary The Senior Product Engineer is a key member of the Product Engineering team, responsible for providing technical leadership and engineering support for medium voltage power distribution products throughout all phases of product development, qualification, and manufacturing. This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but will provide technical guidance and leadership to cross-functional teams and junior engineers. Key Responsibilities The MV Product Engineer position with include but not be limited to the following functions: Primary point of contact (POC) and subject matter experts (SME) for medium and/or low voltage power distribution products. Focus on testing and qualifying new products and processes, supporting the transition of those products and processes into manufacturing Assist in the coordination and management of new product introduction schedules and activities, and cross-product issues throughout the product life cycle. Develop, maintain, and finalize engineering documentation for production and commercial use. Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Engineering) to align product engineering activities with business objectives. Work with suppliers for product maintenance activities including product obsolescence and redesign. Coordinate action plans with internal teams to support product maintenance needs. Provide engineering leadership and technical support across the entire product lifecycle, including continuous improvement initiatives. Develop training materials for internal teams and customers on product features and applications. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum 2–5 years of experience in power distribution equipment or a closely related industry. Competency with medium voltage switchgear products design and manufacturing, including knowledge of industry standards (UL 1558, 1008 and ANSI C37.20 and NEC/CEC). Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs. Skilled in collaboration and problem-solving in ambiguous situations. Demonstrated success collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. Highly effective written and verbal communication. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD tools and ERP systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Workplace Conditions Office and manufacturing floor environment; occasional travel to supplier sites, customer locations and IEM locations may be required. PURPOSE OF POSITION: The top priorities of this position will be to support Quality and ISO 9001 in all areas of the IEM Organization at manufacturing site – both internal and external.
