The selected candidate will join a group of 38 pathology consultants. All Surgical and Clinical pathologists have subspecialty expertise and participate in scholarly activities through research and education. The new faculty member will work closely with our large multi-disciplinary team of physicians from surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, orthopedic oncology, head and neck surgery, gynecologic oncology, musculoskeletal and body radiology, and interventional radiology to deliver coordinated care to our sarcoma patients and participate in research projects. The new faculty member will lead presentations and discussion of pathology review for cases at our weekly sarcoma tumor board which is run from our site and video-conferenced between multiple national sarcoma centers. Responsibilities The Cardiothoracic Division of the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Florida in Jacksonville is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Cardiothoracic Radiologist to join our dynamic, collaborative team of 11 subspecialty-focused radiologists. Kern Center has nearly 200 staff members of whom 23 are PhD faculty, working on over 140 active projects in collaboration with over 120 practice partners across all Mayo Clinic sites. A Research Associate in Health Service Research (HSR) works independently and leads projects. The primary focus is on health care policy and cutting-edge research to design, develop, and test strategies that transform patient care and outcomes, particularly in the science of quality measurement. Research may be interchangeable with Epidemiology, Public Health, or Biostatistics. A Research Associate at Mayo Clinic is a temporary transitional role with the primary purpose to allow qualified individuals to work within an established investigator's program in preparation for an academic and/or independent research career. The ability to perform specialized or complex functions would typically be demonstrated through review of scientific accomplishments, contributions, and peer-reviewed publications averaging at least one per year post-doctoral degree. The Research Associate is expected to provide leadership support and training within an established research program. Upon background check and CCATS Executive Committee approval, Research Associate may have patient/research subject contact directly relating to and incidental to the original research program.
