Role The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business requirements across business lines. Research and recommend solution alternatives that best align with organizational and project objectives. May perform limited programming or technical analysis as required Major Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a primary resource for departmental programming requests by analyzing and interpreting the business unit’s needs. Research and recommend alternatives that more effectively meet the business objectives. Review, analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs. Serve as a resource for corporate projects. Create and maintain detailed descriptions of the business unit’s needs, program functions and steps required to develop or modify programs. Translate documents into functional design. Create documentation/diagrams describing project workflow and information. Collaborate with other analysts and programmers on a regular basis to implement new and revised functionality. Assist in the testing of third party software and development. Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Knowledge and Skills Experience - Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Education/Certifications/Licenses - A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school equivalent to approximately 64 credit hours. Interpersonal Skills -A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
