Position Summary As a Combo Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a Combo/Jet-Vac Truck to clean underground pipes, vaults, and tanks using high-pressure water and vacuum systems. In addition to operating specialized equipment, you will assist in setting up and managing traffic control in accordance with safety regulations and site requirements. Your work directly supports the productivity and safety of the field crew, and you will report to the Field Operations Manager. Regional & Work Environment Considerations This role involves working along busy streets, highways, and residential roads, often in high-traffic areas. Crews must follow strict safety protocols and be aware of roadside hazards. Some sites may include embankments, uneven terrain, or wet conditions. Expect outdoor challenges and changing weather conditions. This means adapting to high heat, humidity, sudden storms, and cold temperatures. Primary Responsibilities Drive and operate a Combo/Jet-Vac Truck to, from, and around assigned worksites to clean sanitary and storm collection systems utilizing a Class A / B CDL license Complete daily DOT vehicle inspections as required / maintain required fuel logs and DOT paperwork Complete the cleaning of small and large diameter pipe, vaults and tanks to Client Standards Strong ability to operate all mechanical aspects of the Combo truck independently Communicate and work with the CCTV Operator on assigned tasks at specific projects Monitor maintenance of the vehicle including coordinating repairs and conducting routine maintenance as needed Utilize simple hand tools and troubleshoot any mechanical issues with tools, Combo truck or other equipment Interact positively and professionally with the public, municipal organizations and utility clients Maintain safe work zones utilizing safety items such as traffic cones and signs / ensure proper procedures are followed Work in all weather conditions (including inclement conditions) to perform assigned duties Travel to various projects to include local and out of state locations based on business needs Job Qualifications and Skills: Valid CDL B License, prefer Combo Truck experience Ability to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug screen required as a condition of employment Current DOT physical examination and the ability to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) Desire to work 50+ hours weekly Hands on jobs and working outside in all types of weather Reliable transportation Individuals who can walk on terrain types, work in confined spaces, bend, squat and lift/carry up to 75 pounds Ability to work in confined spaces at time with proper certification Travel 2 to 3 weeks at a time as needed, work weekends and work some nights. Travel could be upwards of 80% of time based on project locations. Position Summary: The Layout Ironworker / Layout Fitter will read and interpret structural steel drawings and perform precise dimensional layouts (e.g., bolt holes, weld plans, fit-up references) in advance of fabrication and erection. This hands-on role requires strong measurement discipline, alignment with project teams, and collaboration with shop and field crews to ensure everything fits as designed. Key Responsibilities: - Read, interpret, and extract critical dimensions from structural steel drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication specs. - Perform precise layout work ahead of fabrication and assembly, including marking hole locations, plate boundaries, cut lines, and reference points. - Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring tools (e.g., tape, square, scribing tools, plumb bobs, laser/optical instruments as applicable). - Translate drawings into accurate layouts on steel members, plates, angles, tees, channels, and built-up sections. - Coordinate with project superintendents, foremen, and shop leads to align layout work with production schedules. - Prepare templates, gages, and temporary fixtures as needed to ensure accurate fit-up and assembly. - Maintain documentation of layouts, references, and any deviations; communicate changes promptly. - Ensure adherence to safety procedures, PPE requirements, and site/shop safety policies. - Participate in quality control checks and assist with punch lists and installation verification. - Support field erection crews with layout information and assistance as required. Qualifications: - 3+ years of experience as a Layout Ironworker, Layout Fitter, or related structural steel layout role. - High school diploma or equivalent; trades apprenticeship, journeyman status, NCCER Ironworker Certification is desired. - Proficiency reading and interpreting structural steel drawings (AISC/ASME standards a plus) and shop drawings. - Strong measuring and layout accuracy; demonstrated ability to translate drawings into precise field marks. - Experience with layout tools and equipment (calipers, tape measures, squares, scribing tools; laser/optical layout tools preferred). - Knowledge of bolt holes, weld symbols, field welds, fit-up tolerances, and erection sequencing. - Ability to work in a fast-paced shop and field environment; willingness to travel to job sites if required. - Safety-conscious mindset with adherence to OSHA standards and company safety policies. - Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
