New employees can earn 60K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 40-50 hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses. There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives. Position is full-time with benefits! 2nd Shift Monday - Thursday 4:00 PM – 1:30 AM and Friday 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Plus some weekend availability required *Must be able to work all shift schedules Assembles steel joist components ready for final welding; performs such work consistent with corporate mission, values and department's financial objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Sets up jigs, reads and interprets shop drawings necessary for such work. Moves parts into position. Aligns parts. Tack welds or clamps parts into position ready for moving along conveyor to final welding area. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to, cleaning, metal scrap removal and other joist assembly-related activities. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. Six months experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, steel industry preferred. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to stand continuously, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Frequently reach overhead with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend crouch, or crawl. Climb or balance frequently.
