Supervisor/Lead

Freight Breakers | Jacksonville, FL 32210

Hello, We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Supervisor/ Lead to join our team. Our operation is fairly simple and will have a small team to supervise. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading a team of 10-15 and be used to basic unloading protocols and safety guidelines. Overview: The team will be unloading boxes out of trailers. Specially, we will be picking up 5-150 lbs boxes off of a trailer floor and placing them onto an appropriately sized wooden pallet. Once full, that pallet is removed using a pallet jack and placed to the side. Get another pallet and repeat until the trailer is empty. Usually this is accomplished with 1-2 people max and we are averaging 2-3 hours per trailer. The Supervisor of this team has a base pay of $18 and has an incentive per trailer completed. That incentive can boost your average pay into $25 an hour if enough trailers are completed by your team daily. You also have the option to also work on trucks and get your portion of the unload pay out. So you could have all 3 on 1 day's pay (Base pay, plus the incentive per truck, plus truck pay if you worked on one) Please note: you can't be paid for all 3 at the same time. Once you start a truck, supervisor pay stops, when you finish the truck, supervisor pay starts again. Working on a truck is not a daily requirement but it is important that you are physically able to work on them if the situation calls for it. You can all be barred from doing trucks if it is negatively impacting our ability to safety or efficiently manage the floor/team. Responsibilities: Tracking/ recording Attendance Tracking/ recording trailer info and when they are started/ completed Tracking/ recording instances of hourly (who, start and end) Sending Start of shift emails and End of shift emails Covering weekly safety topics and completing safety observations. Requirements Computer Skills (Basic knowledge and use of Microsoft Word and Excel) Good Communication (We need consistent communication on emails and texts or calls) Positive attitudes (Unloading trailers are hard work, people get heated and we need to deescalate/ calm them when the situations arises) Multi-Tasking Skills: We will have 4-5 teams working 4-5 different trailers throughout the day, keeping track of everyone is paramount) Schedule: Monday-Friday (Sat on call if overtime is needed.) 6pm-Until Finished (Usually 2:30am)
