The ratios are not adjusted on the floor. * Fermentation and the cooler — different products ferment for different lengths of time, from five days for pickles to four weeks for some krauts. You learn which goes where and how long it stays. * Recording — every batch is logged by product, pounds and tubs. If a batch is not logged it does not exist, and the plan downstream runs on those numbers. * Sanitation — fermentation is a controlled process and it only stays controlled if the room does. *Packaging — What the Department Does* Packaging turns bulk ferment into a sellable pouch. Every unit that ships was filled, sealed, dated and crated by this team. It is the highest-volume department on the floor and it sets the pace for everything downstream. *What you would learn, in order:* * Packing — filling pouches to weight, by hand, at the pace the line needs. Every product has its own fill and its own crate count: kraut runs 40 to a crate, olives 62, pickles 30. * Topping and sealing — brine level before sealing, then running and inspecting the seal. A bad seal is a leaker, and a leaker is a refund and a lost customer. * Labels and dates — every pouch is labelled and date-coded. That is a food safety requirement, not a preference. * Crating and the count log — finished pouches are crated and counted. The count is how the whole company knows what was made; it feeds the daily pack list and the quarterly plan. * Running and stocking product — keeping every station supplied, and keeping product ahead of the line. Major Responsibilities: Mechanical fabrication of modular control buildings from custom steel bases to wall/roof assembly, and full fit-out with doors, HVACs, etc. Proper layout of mechanical equipment within the modular building Assemble mechanical equipment per WM standards and engineered drawings Assembling, installing, and mounting electrical and mechanical equipment and components neatly and professionally within modular control buildings Ability to visually locate components and determine proper clearances, etc. Properly label and document component identification and location Assist with preparing assembled equipment for system testing procedures Maintain a clean and organized production area on a daily basis Reviews BOM (bill of materials) to assess equipment receipt and readiness for project assembly Proper use of industrial tools, such as welders, grinders, band saws, shear, punches, benders, overhead cranes, and forklifts Complies with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner Works with the Manufacturing Manager and Operations Manager to fully understand system assembly requirements and shipment schedules and/or project timelines Minimum Requirements: Education – High School Diploma (Associate degree in Industrial/Mechanical field and/or related Military experience preferred). Experience – 2+ years of directly related mechanical and/or fabrication experience in the areas described above for Staff Technician Level. 5 – 10 years of experience for Lead Technician Level Strong preference for AWS welding experience and certifications Strong preference for CWI certification Required Skills and Qualifications: Ability to read mechanical/fabrication drawings and details Good employee interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated skill in working effectively with a team of engineers and engineering support Familiar with the use of a personal computer (PC) for entering timesheets, expense reports, printing wire labels, etc. Working knowledge of all necessary safety requirements while working in the assembly area Strong time management and organization skills. Must be able to work independently and successfully complete multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment Physical Demands of Position Good visual perception to see small electrical wires and components within the panel boards. Must have full dexterity in hands and fingers to utilize a variety of tools and equipment for electrical assembly. Must have the ability to stand and/or kneel for long periods. Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines. Also, the ability to mount and dismount equipment, push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. We're growing in Jacksonville, Florida and seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Superintendent to support projects in the area. What You'll Do As the Sheet Metal Superintendent, you'll lead field operations for all sheet metal work, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. Responsibilities Supervise sheet metal crews and subcontractors on commercial and federal construction projects. Coordinate with plumbing, pipefitting, insulation, welding, and other mechanical trades. Ensure work complies with project specifications, safety requirements, building codes, and military standards. Partner with the Project Superintendent to maintain schedules and resolve field issues. Promote a safety-first culture while delivering high-quality workmanship. Qualifications 5+ years as a Sheet Metal Superintendent or Foreman on commercial, industrial, institutional, or federal construction projects. 3+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems. Government, military, or DoD construction experience preferred. Design-Build experience is a plus. OSHA 30, CPR, and First Aid certifications required (training available).
