Ophthalmic/Optometric Technician We are a busy Pediatric Ophthalmology practice seeking a highly motivated and dependable Ophthalmic/Optometric Technician who is motivated to learn and can work in a fast paced environment. We are currently staffed with one full time pediatric ophthalmologist and one full time optometrist. We serve patients age 21 and younger for comprehensive care, and adult strabismus patients of any age (one to two half days per week). Experience in Ophthalmology or Pediatric Ophthalmology preferred, but not required. We understand the rarity of our specialty and will provide instruction and training materials. Must be comfortable with children and have a warm personality! Duties include: -preliminary patient work-ups including History of Present Illness, Past Medical History, etc -performing acuity testing, refractions, tonometry, and diagnostic testing including OCT, Visual fields, fundus photos -education on strabismus and amblyopia evaluation/management as well as slit lamp and prism training will be provided -scribing for the doctor on occasion -entering data into electronic health records software via iPad (EMA) and practice management system (Centricity/ Phreesia) -triaging patient calls Candidate also must be willing to support front desk when necessary (answering phones, scheduling, verifying insurances, obtaining necessary referrals and prior authorizations, recalls, surgical paperwork). Applicant must possess excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic with attention to detail. Awesome hours (7-3:30 and 7:30-4) Candidate must also be able to multi-task efficiently, work as a team with co-workers, and be able to communicate effectively and confidently with patients.
