Outdoor living is truly the main attraction in Northeast Florida. With an ideal climate and an average of 220 days of sunshine, who wouldn’t want to be outside? The region is home to numerous outdoor attractions that new residents should visit, including the Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and the Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens.

  • JAX Transportation 

Northeast Florida offers many ways to get around the region. If you’re new to public transportation, check out the Jacksonville Transportation Authority’s (JTA) city bus routes and the Skyway in Downtown Jacksonville. There are plenty of opportunities to travel throughout the region without relying on a car. 

  • Homeowner Checklist 

For electrical and water services, new residents should contact the Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) to get everything set up. As a heads-up, you’ll need to bring two forms of identification when visiting in person. It’s also important to learn your trash and recycling pickup schedule, which you can find here.
