Pharmacy Technician – IV

Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced IV Pharmacy Technician for our busy Southpoint Office. The Pharmacy Tech is responsible for performing the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of medical preparation, distribution, record-keeping, and inventory control. This includes the calculation of dosages, verifying patient information and physician drug authorization, assisting under supervision with compounding or admixing medication, and properly disposing of all materials used. This position is also responsible for the maintenance of records, logs, and MSDS sheets, and for performing any other administrative tasks necessary. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Assists with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision Assist with retail pharmacy medications according to policy. Checks all orders for completeness of information; verifies patient information and proper physician authorization Checks all orders for insurance approval before admixing Under supervision, admixes drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines Calculates correct dosages, including the conversion between metric and apothecary equivalents. Calculations are subject to final verification. You will train for a month and work 9:30am-6pm then transition to the closing shift. We are open on weekends and holidays. The weekends will rotate and you will have 2 days off during the week. Under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for the filling and packaging of prescriptions in an accurate and timely manner for delivery to our customers. Apply labels to medication packaging, scan and assemble into appropriate bins in an accurate and timely manner. Alert pharmacist on duty of any medication that is not scanning properly. Participate in training and development activities to gain proficiency in other Fulfillment workflow areas. Communicate inventory needs to ensure adequate supply of medication available to complete all orders. Assist in maintaining inventory at appropriate levels, including removing expired or unused meds, marking used bottles and keeping inventory neat and arranged in-order. May assist in physical inventory. Consistently meet pharmacy's established accuracy and productivity levels. Work collaboratively with other supervisors/functional areas to keep work flowing smoothly and efficiently. Maintain clean and orderly workstation. Put medications away and replenish all stock supplies needed. Comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the dispensing of prescription medications. ABOUT PRECISION DIAGNOSTICS: Precision Diagnostics, based in San Diego, California is a fast-growing clinical laboratory that specializes in providing drug testing, primarily for the purpose of helping physicians monitor their patient’s undergoing treatment for pain or substance abuse. Precision’s objective is to improve patient adherence/compliance with their prescription regimen and protect medical practices from liability. THE ROLE: The Account Manager at Precision Diagnostics plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence by proactively preventing defects in both pre-analytical and post-analytical phases within the ADS system. This position is responsible for optimizing workflow efficiencies to maximize time-to-payment and increase the number of claims paid while ensuring revenue retention. The Account Manager serves as a strategic partner to healthcare providers, enhancing provider experience and patient satisfaction. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with accounts to support long-term client partnerships. You will organize and lead on-site training sessions for customers and their staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to use our products or services effectively. As the main point of contact, you will identify client needs, provide exceptional support, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver the best possible solutions. Key Responsibilities: Defect Prevention & Workflow Optimization: Identify and address potential pre-analytical and post-analytical defects that may impact claim processing, ensuring accuracy from order entry through final reporting. Work closely with customers to prevent pre-analytical and post-analytical defects Implement processes that enhance claim approval rates and reduce denials. Claims & Revenue Management: Increase time-to-payment and improve claim acceptance rates by developing a deep understanding of customer workflows and payer requirements. Partner with providers to ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete, mitigating potential delays or denials. Actively monitor claim status, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to maximize reimbursement. Provider Education & Support: Educate healthcare providers on payer’s evolving documentation and testing requirements to enhance compliance and minimize rework. Provide hands-on training and ongoing support to optimize provider adherence to best practices. Act as a trusted advisor to ensure providers understand the impact of proper order entry on revenue cycle efficiency. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including compliance, and healthcare operations, to continuously improve processes that impact claim outcomes. Leverage data-driven insights to recommend workflow enhancements and best practices that improve efficiency and revenue retention. Provide feedback to leadership on emerging trends and potential barriers to success, driving strategic improvements. Strong customer service skills required. Excellent communication and relationship building skills to effectively engage with healthcare providers and internal stakeholders. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills to proactively address claim-related issues. Understanding the full cycle sales process is key. Must be able to successfully manage and service multiple accounts. Excellent problem solving, time management, and work prioritization skills.
