A Week in the Life of JAX

Day one: Baker County 

Baker county is a day for relaxing and enjoying the slow life. Take in the beautiful scenery Northeast Florida and see what living in a family-friendly county is like.  

Must-visit restaurant: Sam’s Crystal River Seafood of Macclenny

Whether you’re visiting for lunch or dinner, this seafood spot is somewhere you will want to visit again and again.  

Attraction: Osceola National Forest 

No matter if you spend the day biking, fishing (or even horseback riding!), this forest is fun for everyone.

Grab your camera because this park has so many pretty areas that are picture perfect!

Day two: Clay County 

Clay County—known for its beauty and outdoor charm. With a multitude of parks and waterways, it’s the ideal place to spend the day soaking in the sunshine. 

Must-visit restaurant: The Toasted Yolk Café 

Start your morning in Clay County at this adorable brunch placet. This restaurant serves all of the classic brunch options with a New Orleans twist. 

Attraction: Bestbet Orange Park 

Looking for a fun attraction that’s 21+? Bestbet in Orange Park is the way to go. Plus, if gambling isn’t your thing, hang out in their bar area and have a drink with friends.  

Scenic spot: Camp Chowenwaw Park 

Why not spend the night in Clay County? At Camp Chowenwaw Park you can sleep in a treehouse, making it a night to remember.

Day three: Duval County 

Duval County has so much to offer its residents, including attractions for all ages, unique neighborhoods and a wide range of restaurants. Get ready for a jam-packed day while visiting this county. 

Must-visit restaurant: Safe Harbor Seafood 

If you’re a seafood lover, Safe Harbor is the place to stop at! With fresh off-the-boat dishes, this restaurant will become one of your favorites. 

Attraction: Florida Theatre 

Check which shows are performing at this iconic Downtown Jacksonville theatre! 

Scenic spot: Friendship Fountain 

After your show at the Florida Theatre, drive down the road to Friendship Fountain to get a gorgeous snapshot of Jacksonville and the St. Johns River.

Day four: Flagler County 

Flagler County is truly Florida’s paradise. Spend the day right by the ocean and see why all beach lovers should make the move to Northeast Florida. This day will make you feel like you’re on vacation.  

Must-visit restaurant: Beach Front Grille 

This dining experience not only has delicious food and drink options but also offers an outstanding overview of the beach!  

Attraction: European Village 

Attention all shopaholics! Today’s the day to get all of your shopping done at the adorable European Village.  

Scenic spot: Washington Oaks Gardens State Park 

From taking photos to having a picnic, this park in Palm Coast has phenomenal views.

Day five: Nassau County 

Nassau County is the perfect mix of historic sites and coastal charm. Spend the day exploring Fernandina and Amelia Island while taking in the county’s culture and attractions. 

Must-visit restaurant: Timoti’s Seafood Shak 

This laid-back restaurant offers an amazing selection of seafood dishes that everyone will find tasty. 

Attraction: Downtown Fernandina Beach 

Spend the afternoon walking down the historic Downtown Fernandina strip and check out local shops, restaurants and museums!

Fort Clinch offers the perfect mix of history and great sights.

Day six: Putnam County 

From its numerous parks to its community events, your day in Putnam County will be nothing short of fun. Just like Baker County, Putnam also radiates family-friendly vibes—making it the perfect place to relax and explore! 

Must-visit restaurant: The Magnolia 

Grab your friends and enjoy a delicious brunch at this cute restaurant.  

Attraction: Palatka Golf Course 

If you enjoy sports, this is a good way to spend your afternoon in Putnam County. 

Scenic spot: Ravine Gardens State Park 

Ravine Gardens is a Northeast Florida must-see, so make sure to check it out and explore everything it has to offer!

Day seven: St. Johns County 

Immerse yourself in Northeast Florida’s rich history and explore different sites from over four hundred years ago. Wrap up the week by visiting the nation’s oldest city and enjoy the different activities there.  

Must-visit restaurant: SAINT St. Augustine 

After a day of exploring the historic city, treat yourself to some delicious Italian food. This hand-made pasta is to die for! 

Attraction: Ripley’s Believe it or not! 

If you have kids joining day seven, this attraction will be the highlight of their day due to the bizarre artifacts and stories. 

Scenic spot: Castillo de San Marcos National Monument 

The fort is a famous Downtown St. Augustine landmark, that lets guests see the water and the city from a different perspective.
