Nestled in the upper right corner of Jacksonville along the banks of the St. Johns River is Arlington, a suburban neighborhood full of diversity, history and nature that’s waiting for you to discover. When you take up residence here, you’ll find Arlington offers a 15-minute commute time to most attractions within the area as well as to the beaches and is conveniently located across the river from downtown Jacksonville.

Outdoor lovers and history buffs will relish this neighborhood when exploring the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve, a 46,000-acre preserve dubbed “Where the Waters Meet” as the Nassau and St. Johns Rivers connect here to flow into the Atlantic Ocean. The preserve is also home to Fort Caroline and Kingsley Plantation, two historic sites depicting life in the early days of what is now Jacksonville. Locals and visitors herald this preserve as one of the most beautiful and magical natural settings in the area.

Travel off the beaten path and find solitude in nature when visiting the Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens. Enjoy the serene gardens or hike through the various trails where each offers its own unique course tailored for all experience levels.

On the weekends, locals hang out at Ed Austin Regional Park. Amenities here include a disc golf course, baseball and soccer fields, walking trails, a skateboard park, a dog park and nearby playground and picnic areas. Golfers can also enjoy a round nearby at the Blue Sky Golf Club.

Arts and culture more your scene? Jacksonville University’s Performing Arts Series showcases student, faculty and visiting artists in the genres of dance, theatre, sculpture, music, film and more year round.

Like most other neighborhoods in JAX, the walls of Arlington are coming to life with murals. The “Wall at College Park” is a mural that was recently done by several artists who have made their own artistic impact in JAX. The mural spells out each individual letter of Arlington and showcases the different artistic styles of each artist.
