Get in the Fall Mood in JAX

The summer heat is gone and pumpkin spice has returned to our local coffee shops and bakeries, so that can only mean one thing – it’s officially fall in JAX!

Whether you’re the type of person who is looking for a Halloween scare or if family-friendly activities are more your style, Northeast Florida is full of many attractions that will make sure to get you in the fall mood.

Need help crafting your ideal “stick season?” Here is a list of just a few fall activities in the region:

Haunted Houses and Ghost Tours

13th Floor:

Located in Jacksonville’s Arlington neighborhood, 13th Floor is not for the faint of heart. This thrilling (and fear-evoking) haunted house is an experience sure to leave you spooked! Throughout the house, there are all kinds of different themes and scare actors. Make sure to grab your tickets online, as this is a one-of-a-kind JAX experience that you don’t want to miss.

Please note, this event is not recommended for children 12 and under.

Old Jail After Dark:

Looking to skip the haunted houses and jump straight into some real paranormal investigating? St. Augustine’s Old Jail would be right up your alley! This experience will immerse you into a real paranormal investigation in one of St. Augustine’s oldest buildings. To start off the night, your tour guide will show you around the building and how the equipment works, then you and your group get to go off on your own.

Corn Mazes and Pumpkin Patches

Conner’s A-MAIZE-NG Acres:

If pumpkin patches put you in the fall mood, then Conner’s A-MAIZE-NG Acres in Hillard is a must-do. Not only does this farm have a huge pumpkin patch and a 9-acre corn maze, but on select nights they also do wagon rides and have a wide variety of food trucks, coffee trucks and desert trucks. This is a perfect fall event for the entire family!

Still wanting something spooky? This farm also has a “field of screams” event on select nights in October. If you’re feeling brave enough, take a walk through their haunted corn field… but be sure to stay close to your friends!

Amazing Grace Family Farms:

Amazing Grace Family Farms located in Green Cove Springs has the cutest spots for the perfect fall photo! From pumpkin patches to hay barrels decorated with fall décor, there are so many photo-worthy spots to choose at this farm.

Outside of the great photo opportunities, Amazing Grace also offers a wide variety of activities that are fun for everyone – farm animals, a cow train, a crop maze and even a jump pad!

Cinotti’s located in Jacksonville Beach offers one-of-a-kind pumpkin donuts. These donuts are so popular that people will line up outside of the building each year to celebrate the return of this fall treat!

Just a few around the region are Southern Grounds (various neighborhoods), Present Tense Coffee and Books (Green Cove Springs) and Sweetwater Coffee Bar and Gallery (St. Augustine).
