Eric M. President & CEO, Health & Wellness Organization
Northeast Florida is the perfect spot for an avid golfer like myself with over 70 public and private golf courses, like one of Jacksonville’s jewels, Timuquana Country Club, a 1923 Donald Ross designed course on the St. Johns River. With so many options, I can tackle the famed 17th hole on THE PLAYERS Stadium Course (where some of the best golfers have played) or I can take a quick trip to Nassau or Flagler County to spend the day on the golf courses at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation or the oceanfront Hammock Beach Resort.
JAX is Perfect for Family
I relocated with my wife and daughter to Jacksonville from Pittsburgh after accepting my current job offer. We know we made the right decision. The availability of good schools and the quality of life has been great for our entire family. I admit that I was a bit apprehensive to move because I wasn’t sure about the area’s arts & culture scene – something I didn’t want to lose by leaving Pittsburgh. However, JAX has it all … art museums, symphony orchestra, theaters, festivals, concerts and more historic sites than I ever imagined.
Get Involved With One of the Largest Volunteer Communities
Throughout my career I’ve lived in Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Cincinnati and Los Angeles. One thing I’ve noticed about Jacksonville is the number of opportunities to get involved in the local community. JAX isn’t just one of the friendliest cities, it’s also one of the most helpful. There are more than 1,000 non-profit, charity and community organizations to join that help make the city a better place to live. I’m fortunate to serve on the Boards of Directors for many non-profit organizations in the area. I appreciate the opportunity to contribute my expertise and experience, and to work alongside people that genuinely care about improving our community.
